Covid 19 Status Update in Romania

Dear friends and motorcycle enthusiasts,

Romania remains a small country with a small population. Not so many people have heard about Romania, the ones that are willing to visit the country are people that would like to experience something new. We are talking about motorcycle riders that would like to ride in Romania who would like to be amazed by the beauty of the landscape, traditions, houses, villages, people and the food. Romania remains untouched by modernism in most of the places, I am sure that the country will develop soon into a regular European country but now, at this moment, Romania has a natural beauty.

Covid 19 has influenced Romania as well. It has had a very low infection rate which does not compare to other European countries such as Italy, Spain or France. We have had a very low number of sick people. We have not had a single case of a person dying because of this virus only. We are talking about other serious pre existing health conditions. Maybe this is the reason we find it difficult to understand why we are currently in lockdown.

We are currently in lock down but waiting for the first relaxing measurement on May 15th when we will be allowed to travel within our designated region (city or village). We estimate that in June we are free to travel independently, free to ride a bike, enjoy the nature and the landscape.

About the medical system in Romania, we have excellent doctors. Did you know that Insulin, the medicine for diabetic disease was discovered by a Romanian doctor? We have many famous Romanians that have added a very significant importance in many sectors, you may find here a few discoveries on Wikipedia.

Romania Motorcycle Tours offers a calendar of guided and self guided motorcycle tours for 2020, most of them are already fully booked. We have postponed a few motorcycle rental bookings in March, April and most probably in May we will do the same. But at this moment, we do not see a problem of traveling in Romania starting with June,2020. We will keep our fingers crossed and hope that things will not change. We hope that according to our actual estimations, we will be able to ride our bike because staying in house is not a solution. Traveling to countries like Romania is safe, a country where the population in villages is less than 100 inhabitants but where you will be amazed by the natural landscape, a country with small outside restaurants with traditional food, a country with its own beer and best cookies, a country with castles and amazing architecture, a country that is worth visiting.
